Our Commitment to Safeguarding
At Age Together, the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in our programmes is our highest priority. We are committed to creating a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for children, young people, volunteers, staff and older adults participating in our intergenerational activities.
Our work brings together different generations through storytelling, creativity and shared experiences, and we take our responsibility to safeguard all participants very seriously.
DBS Checks
All volunteers and staff who work directly with participants are required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check where appropriate.
We also encourage team members to register with the DBS Update Service so their status can be regularly verified.
This helps ensure that everyone working with Age Together meets the necessary safeguarding standards.
Safeguarding Training
All volunteers and staff receive guidance and training on safeguarding, including:
Training is provided during onboarding and through ongoing learning resources.
Working with Schools and Care Homes
Our activities take place in partnership with trusted organisations such as schools, care homes and community venues.
When delivering sessions we work closely with staff at each location to ensure that:
Age Together always respects the safeguarding procedures of partner organisations.
Reporting Concern
If a safeguarding concern arises during any Age Together activity, it will be taken seriously and reported through the appropriate safeguarding procedures.
Concerns may be raised by volunteers, staff, teachers, care staff, participants or parents. All reports will be handled sensitively and confidentially.

Creating Safe Intergenerational Spaces
